Brussels Airlines becomes partner of BOIC, supports all Belgian Olympic athletes
Tuesday, May 06, 2014
Brussels Airlines has signed a structural cooperation agreement with the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC). Thanks to the partnership, Brussels Airlines is now the official airline of the BOIC and will fly the Belgian athletes to their qualifications for the Olympic Games 2016 (“Road To Rio”).
Brussels Airlines continues its efforts to support the Belgian sportsmen and women. Having recently announced a partnership with the Belgian Red Devils (Belgium’s national football team), Brussels Airlines will now also welcome ánd spoil all Belgian athletes who are preparing for the Olympic Games. The airline just concluded an extensive partnership with the BOIC, turning Brussels Airlines into the official airline of the Belgian Olympic athletes.
Thanks to the partnership and thanks to the extensive flight offer of Brussels Airlines (the airlines offers the largest choice of destinations and flight frequencies out of Brussels), the BOIC and the athletes can benefit from the best service and comfort on board as well as on the ground (lounge access at the airport, separate check-in,…). The partnership is also beneficial to the Belgian sports fans. In the next few months, Brussels Airlines will work out numerous travel packages (flight + entrance tickets) for fans who want to root for the Belgian athletes in foreign competitions and tournaments.
"Since several years we show that we have a heart for the Belgian sportsmen and women and we see it as our duty as the Belgian national airline. We are thrilled that after earlier partnerships with individual sports federations like the Royal Belgian Football Association, the Cycling League and the Athletics Association we can now also reach out to the overarching BOIC, and thus almost the entire Belgian world of sport, to offer customized and attractive travel options. On top, we can also let the sports fans benefit from this, through the packages we will offer in the future.”
-- Bernard Gustin, CEO of Brussels Airlines
"This unique partnership is excellent news for all athletes who have to travel abroad often in the coming months. It literally and figuratively gives wings to The Road To Rio 2016 and Team Belgium”
-- Philippe Vander Putten, CEO of BOIC
