About Abuja

Abuja is the modern & blooming capital of Nigeria. In a few years Abuja became the heart of Nigeria's diplomatic activity. Abuja is located in a very strategic position for visiting all the different parts of the country.

When in 1976 it was decided that Lagos could no longer be Nigeria's capital, plans were made to create a brand new city from scratch, which eventually became Abuja. Because of this, the city has an incredible infrastructure and an impressive skyline with several skyscrapers. In 2006, building began on the Millennium Tower, which will be the tallest building of Nigeria once completed.

Apart from modern architecture, there are still plenty of things to do or see; go shopping at one of the markets, try out one of the great local restaurants, or organise a trip throughout the unreal nature in the area. Before leaving, make sure you've seen Aso Rock and Zuma Rock, especially the latter. This 725 meter high monolith is Nigeria's answer to Ayers Rock (Uluru) in Australia, but is twice as high, and definitely just as impressive.
