A humid tropical climate
Guinea, which is one of the wettest countries in West Africa, looks out on to the Atlantic Ocean and has a 320 km long coastline. The period from May to October has the highest rainfall.
Guinea has a large number of sites that you certainly must visit. Fouta Djalon is a plateau at the heart of the country with beautiful green hills and mountains that are over 1,000 metres high. The climate is very cool there, which makes it ideal for hiking. Mamou is a small town with, among other attractions, an open-air cinema. The city of Faranah only comes to life when the sun goes down.
Kankan is interesting for its open-air markets and the Great Mosque. The sculpture workshop and the presidential palace are also worth a visit. You shouldn’t miss Kindia, with its special waterfall. Gueckedou is well known for its enormous market. You can buy absolutely anything there. Of course, you should also set aside some time to relax on one of the beautiful beaches.
