The new tourist attraction
Croatia is not very well known as a holiday destination, but it is only a question of time before this is the case. This beautiful country has everything you might expect from a holiday destination: sun, culture and fun.
Slowly but surely, Croatia is climbing out of the trough of the nineties. The war is forgotten and the tourist industry can once again operate to its full capacity. The Mediterranean coast is certainly once more a true paradise for holidaymakers. The warm climate, renovated hotels and hospitality are Croatia’s real strong points.
Croatia’s capital is Zagreb, which is a cultural treasure, but Split and Dubrovnik can also offer visitors a mixture of culture and history. In the north, on the border with Slovenia, there is Istria, the most tourist-oriented part of Croatia. Its countryside is a mixture of Tuscany (Italy) and Provence (France), with hills and green woods. This region also contains the most mediaeval sights.
