Culture in a cold country
Russia is the biggest country in the world, with Moscow and St. Petersburg as tourist attractions.
Russia is situated in the east of Europe and has a continental climate. In the winter, it is therefore bitterly cold, with temperatures of well below zero. Summers are actually nice and warm. A visit to Moscow, the capital of Russia, is certainly worth a visit to see the various sights. These include the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum and Red Square.
St. Petersburg is Russia’s European city. Until 1991, this city was called Leningrad. The Winter Palace and various buildings from the time of the Tsars are certainly attractions. Although the most important cities are situated in European Russia, there is also much to admire in Russia on the other side of the Ural Mountains, mainly in the natural world.
