About Raleigh and Durham
In the eastern United States, there are two relatively unknown cities: Raleigh and Durham. It is therefore high time for people to find out more about them.
Raleigh and Durham are situated in the State of North Carolina. They are the biggest cities in a region known as Research Triangle, which is one of the best places to live and work in the United States. The most important sights include the Executive Mansion, which has been the home of the Governor of North Carolina since 1890. This mansion, made of brick, sandstone and marble, is a homage to the earth, from which these three materials have been obtained.
The Capital Building dating from 1840 and constructed in the Greek Revival style is also worth a visit. Other tourist attractions include Moore Square Park with all its tobacco plants, the North Carolina Museum of History and Artspace. Artspace is a gallery and workplace for local artists. You can go there to see painters at work in their natural surroundings.
