Located on the Warta river, Poznán is one of the oldest cities in Poland. In the Old Town you will therefore find a wide range of historic buildings and sights. The famous Royal-Imperial Route takes tourists along them all.
Besides this great historic heritage, Poznán also has a great business climate. World giants such as Volkswagen, Nestle and IKEA based their local activities here and the city is also home to the Poznan International Fair, the biggest centre of international trade in Poland, which attracts thousands of companies from all over the world.
Last but not least Poznán often hosts major sports events. The world famous Malta Lake is home to numerous international rowing events and in 2012 the city is up for a new challenge: being one of the eight hosts of the UEFA European Football Championship.
