Baltimore, nicknamed “Charm City” is the largest independent city in the United States. The city’s Inner Harbor was once one of the leading ports of the United States and a major manufacturing center. Now it’s home to Harborplace, a tourist center for shopping and entertainment where people can discover Baltimore’s fascinating maritime history.
Harborplace includes the National Aquarium, one of the biggest in the world, Port Discovery Children’s Museum, the Gallery Shopping Centers and the sports stadiums for the Ravens (football) and the Orioles (baseball).
When you want to leave the modern part of Baltimore, Fells Point is the place to visit. It’s the oldest section of Baltimore, reminiscent of and old English village, including pubs and cobblestone streets.
