Conditions:
Brussels Airlines will transport car parts under following conditions:
- Car/motorcycle parts must be clean and dry
- Adequately packed
- Within allowed dimensions
- Not containing dangerous goods
Acceptance:
Following car/motorcycle parts are allowed to be transported as checked luggage:
- Windshield wipers
- Steering shields
- Outside tires
- Inside tires not inflated
- Clean and dry engine parts (e.g parts for testing)
Following car/motorcycle parts are not allowed to be transported as checked luggage and must be shipped via cargo. Please contact Brussels Airlines Cargo department for information and reservation :
- Dirty engines
- Carburettors
- Fuel tanks which contain or have contained fuel
- Batteries
- Compressed gases in tyre inflation devices
- Fire extinguisher
- Shocks / struts with nitrogen
- Air bag inflator's and:or air bag modules
- Car glass windows
Acceptance of arms:
The following items are accepted for transportation in hold, free of charge if within the free luggage allowance. If exceeding the free luggage allowance, the normal excess luggage rate needs to be applied.
- sporting guns, sporting pistols/revolvers and sporting rifles
- side arms of which no automatic version exists
- hunting rifles
- other small defence arms, such as knives, daggers, stilettos, etc.
Weapons or ammunition with explosive or incendiary projectiles may not be carried as checked luggage.
Any arms and ammunition that are permitted for transportation must be checked in and carried in hold - carriage in the cabin is not permitted.
Transportation of arms and ammunition is under the passenger's own responsibility.
Packing of arms:
The following packing conditions must be met for arms:
- all arms must be unloaded
- arms must be suitably packed, in a strong rigid container made of wood, metal, fibre,
styropor etc.The container is to be provided by the passenger himself.
Acceptance of ammunitions:
- ammunition is considered dangerous goods; consequently, acceptance is limited
- transportation of ammunition must be pre-notified , please contact our Customer Contact Centre
Packing of ammunition
The ammunition must be:
- packed separately from the firearm
- packed in a strong outer container made of wood, metal or fibreboard
- protected, inside the container, against shock and secured against any movement
- packed in such a way that it cannot function accidentally
Ammunition restrictions
The quantity limitation for ammunition is maximum 5 kg per passenger.

Not permitted in checked and hand luggage:
Dangerous goods are items that may endanger the safety of an aircraft or person on board the aircraft.
- Gas cylinders - Flammable liquids - Organic peroxides - Toxic substances - Radioactive materials
- Corrosives
- Explosives
- Flammable solids
- Oxidising materials
- Infectious substances
- Magnetised materials
- Miscellaneous dangerous goods (including asbestos, dry ice, engines)
For battery powered bicycles:
Due to security restrictions and regulations we are not accepting battery powered bicycles as normal sport equipment. Battery powered bicycles should always be transported as dangerous goods and need to be shipped as CARGO. Please contact Brussels Airlines Cargo department for information and reservation.
