Originally a little fishing town, Shanghai is today, with around 20 million inhabitants, one of the most influential metropolis in Eastern Asia. Not only is Shanghai the largest business and trade center in mainland China, but the city is also on the cutting edge in the areas of technology and science.
The city’s architecture is an interesting mix of western (skyscrapers) and Chinese (Shikumen) influences, that blend in to offer its visitors a unique feeling.
