Located on the Niger River, Bamako is still largely unexplored by tourists. From bustling markets to some of Africa’s best music stars, the city is home to some great restaurants, hotels and nightlife.
But also during the day Bamako has a lot to offer. De city hosts several museums, including the National Museum, which shows traditional Malinese art, and the Museum Muso Kundo, which is dedicated to Malinese women.
To enjoy an overview of the city, visit Point G. This hill has an observation post that offers a magnificent view of the whole town. If you rather go inside the hills, that’s possible too. In several caves you can take a look at fantastic prehistoric rock drawings.
