Located in the province of Catanzaro (Calabria), famous for its beautiful landscape, Lamezia Terme was founded in 1968 after the fusion of the former commune of Sambiase (famous for its thermal baths in the Roman Empire), Nicastro and Sant'Eufemia.
History lovers will enjoy the Diocesan Museum, the National Archaeological Museum as well as the ruins of the Cistercian abbey of Santa Maria di Corrazzo and the Bastion of the Knights of Malta watchtower (built in 1550).
But Lamezia Terme is also a city with lovely sandy beaches and that typical italian romantic atmosphere that make it a destination of choice.
