The city of Dallas is notorious for the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963, but it is also famous for its skyline with its large number of skyscrapers.
Dallas is situated at an important traffic hub and is the main industrial and commercial centre in the south-western United States. However, the city also has a number of museums, a theatre, its own symphony orchestra and an opera company.
One building that you certainly must visit is the impressive Reunion Tower, which has 50 floors topped by a glass sphere that affords a magnificent view. Other sights include the John F. Kennedy Memorial and the Union Station, a large railway station in the color of terracotta, built in the Beaux Arts style.
