a. System management: user account and further storage
When applying to Brussels Airlines for a job, you are required to register via our application management system. Each user/applicant must set up a user account. This account consists of at least the following information:
- First name
- Last name
- User name
- E-mail address
Also, your user account can store any other information you provide or are required to give (such as your cv, supporting documents, diplomas and attestations).
The user account is always retained for a period of 5 years, upon the closing of every active application. The application portal does however allow you to delete your profile yourself at any given moment.
b. Application history & pre-employment screening
Separately from your user account, your application history will be stored for a maximum of 5 years if your application does not lead to an employment contract. It is only used to recognise you if you apply to the same position anew.
We might also invite you to complete certain tests or a questionnaire to assess whether your profile meets the requirements of a position. However, to date, no automatic decisions are made based on the outcome of the tests and a member of the recruiting team will always review the results of the test before a decision is made.
c. Feedback
Before the selection process is completed, your email address may be used to ask you for feedback. We do this to continuously improve the application process and to know how you rate the experience of applying to us.
d. Safety and Compliance
We use your data to comply with compliance obligations and regulations to which Brussels Airlines is subject. This includes using it to help detect or prevent crime (including terrorism financing, money laundering and other financial crimes).
Under this umbrella, a pre-employment screening based on norms and values will take place, which includes compiling a psychological profile of you. We do this, as it is part of our mandatory onboarding process (and confirms your eligibility for an employment contract). For our processing of psychological personal data – which we treat as sensitive, limited and confidential - we rely on reasons of substantial public interest, based on Union or Member State law.
Only the result of this screening (“unacceptable”, or "acceptable") is passed on to the responsible personnel department, for them to register locally in the application management system and delete the full profile immediately upon registration of the result. A negative result is stored for 365 days; a positive result will be stored in your employee file as proof of having passed the test.
e. Onboarding
To conclude a successful application process, we will gather information directly from you, or from your user account, containing at least the following:
