Strong passenger growth for Brussels Airlines in February

Thursday, March 13, 2014 Brussels Airlines welcomed 11.4% more passengers in February compared to the same period last year. This means that the strong passenger growth recorded in January continues in February.

Brussels Airlines gets off to a very good start in 2014. Following the increase of more than 11% of passengers in January, Brussels Airlines continues the same trend in February with 11.4% more passengers.

Both European and intercontinental flights attracted more passengers last month. Compared to February 2013, 12.1% more passengers were welcomed on board European flights. The number of passengers on board African flights grew by 6.1%. Flights to Washington and New York welcomed 16.8% more passengers.

This positive growth resulted in an increase in seat load factor. The company’s freight activities show a notable growth as well (20,2%).

In addition to this scheduled flight activity, Brussels Airlines operated many holiday flights for tour operators. Passenger figures for this charter activity are not included in the monthly figures of this press release.
