    About Calvi

Calvi is a small town on the north-western coast of Corsica and the second most important tourist area on the island. The city, skirted by a very long and popular sandy beach called La Pinede, is surrounded by the tallest mountains of Corsica, with the highest peak being Mount Cinto (2710 metres).

The city is divided into two parts: the upper town with the 15th-century Citadel (Calvi’s most important historical monument), and the lower part with a marina, the port, numerous restaurants and cafés. Close to the Citadel, you will see a few ruins with a commemorative stone on them - believed to be the ruins of the birthplace of the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Not a sight to be missed!

A perfect destination for beach lovers - it’s a great spot to get a tan and simply relax - Calvi also offers a variety of cultural activities. The fireworks show on 15 August is famous all over the island, as well the annual jazz festival every June.
