1 carry-on bag* Carry-on bag

Your carry-on bag must be stowed in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you.

Please remember that there is limited storage space in the cabin. Should there be no more storage left, we may ask you to hand over your carry-on bag, even when meeting the hand baggage requirements. This will be done free of charge if your hand baggage is within the allowed size. You will receive your hand baggage at the baggage belt together with your checked baggage, if any.

Tip: Keep your valuables in your personal accessory. This makes it easier for you to keep your valuables with you in case we place your carry-on bag in the hold.

1 personal itemPersonal iteam

In addition to your carry-on bag, you can bring one small personal item with you on your Brussels Airlines flight. Examples are: a handbag, a laptop bag, a briefcase or a camera bag.
Other smaller items like jackets, duty free bags, etc. should be stored in either your carry-on bag or personal item.

Personal items will always be guaranteed on board and must fit underneath the seat in front of you.***

The weight of your personal item must be included in the total weight of your hand baggage.**** For example: A Flex&Fast guest may bring a carry-on trolley of 9kg and a laptop bag of 3kg on board because the combined weight is within the 12kg weight limit for hand baggage.

* Bizz&Class and Business Class passengers are allowed 2 carry-on bags plus 1 small accessory.
** Total hand baggage weight for Bizz&Class and Business Class passengers may not exceed 16kg.
*** In case you are seated in an emergency exit row, you must stow your personal item in an overhead compartment.
**** Duty free items need to be part of either carry-on or personal item.

Exceeding your allowance

Please make sure that your carry-on bag respects the size and weight limits. If you proceed directly to the gate and your hand baggage is determined to be overweight or oversized, you will be charged €45 per item. The charge can be paid on the spot via debit/credit card or with cash at the Service desk. In the event that you cannot pay this amount, you will be denied boarding.

Avoid extra baggage charges at the airport by purchasing checked baggage when you book or before you fly via Manage my booking.

Adults travelling with an infant (up to 2 years) on their lap, may carry a baby bag in addition to their own hand baggage allowance. Read more about baggage for children.

On charter flights (flight numbers SN1001 to SN1200) the hand baggage allowance is limited to 6kg.
