Moncton is one of the largest cities in the province of New Brunswick and is situated at the geographic centre of the Maritime Provinces in Eastern Canada.
The surrounding area of Moncton is mostly famous for having the world’s highest tides. In the city’s downtown, in the Tidal Bore Park, you can even watch this natural phenomenon twice a day, turning the muddy riverbed into a deep river within an hour. For a more spectacular result, head south to the Hopewell Cape and walk on the ocean floor through the meters high sea stacks during low tide. During high tide, these rocks, also called the Flowerpot Rocks, get completely covered except for the plants growing on top.
