      About Milan

Milan is the second largest city in Italy and the capital of the region of Lombardy. The city is mainly known for its haute couture, theatres and landmarks. Whether it’s for a shopping spree, discovering the newest creations of major designers like Versace, Armani and Gucci, or simply enjoy an opera performance at the famous Scala opera house, you’ll be amazed by the riches of this city.

The most important building in the city is the Duomo, with its 135 turrets. This cathedral is 160 metres long and 92 metres wide and has a cross on each tower. The construction of the cathedral was a huge undertaking, which took about 500 years. Can’t get enough of Milan’s architecture? Head to Castello Sforzesco, a Renaissance castle in the heart of the city, and enjoy a sunny afternoon in the magnificent peaceful park surrounding the castle.

Do you rather escape the big city life and wish to be one with nature? Not far away from Milan you can relax by one of the many big lakes with amazing mountain views or simply enjoy the Italian delicacies in typical small villages. Can’t wait to get away? Book your flight to Milan Malpensa Airport and start your journey in Lombardy.
