      About Tel Aviv

      Tel Aviv beach and market

Tel Aviv is the biggest city of Israel and the main cultural and financial centre of the country. The city was actually the capital of Israel for a short time, until 1949, when Jerusalem became the capital. The city is known for its beautiful beaches, interesting cultural life, excellent shopping streets. And let’s not forget its famous wild nightlife, earning Tel Aviv its nickname The City That Never Stops.

Thanks to its 4,000 UNESCO World Heritage Bauhaus buildings, Tel Aviv is also known as the White City. Except for Bauhaus, visitors can also enjoy other architectural styles such as Eclectic and Brutalism architecture. Take a stroll down Rothschild Boulevard, Dizengoff Street and Bialik Street for the best of the White City.

Tel Aviv has many interesting museums worth visiting. The most notable are the Ben Gurion House - the former home of Israel's first Prime Minister, Tel Aviv Museum of Art and Eretz Israel Museum. Good art can also be found outside of museums. Head to Old Jaffa and Florentine street for some of Tel Aviv's best street art.
