Films from the South Festival (7 October – 16 October 2016)
The best films from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East are presented at this unique festival, making it one of the most important cultural highlights of Oslo and the Norwegian film industry.
Oslo is a magnificent city, and architecturally, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
In addition to being the capital, it is also the biggest and most attractive city in Norway. The city centre is packed with old and new buildings, all architectural gems. The town hall is certainly a major attraction. It is an eye-catching red-brick building with two towers. Opinions may differ about the exterior of the town hall, but everyone agrees that the interior is magnificent.
Other tourist attractions include Akershus Festning, a large fortress built in the 14th century by King Haakon V, and Bogstad Country Estate. You should visit Tryvann Tower for a beautiful view of the city and the fjords.
Train rides to Norway’s famous fjords are available from Oslo daily. In less than 24 hours, you will find yourself in a near-magical environment, surrounded by majestic mountains and crystalline waters - truly one of the most breathtaking views in the world!
