Our measures for carefree travel

Before your trip & upon arrival

  •  COVID-19 Test Centre at Brussels Airport

You can get tested on COVID-19 at Brussels Airport. The COVID-19 Test Centre is located just outside the airport terminal (on the Departure level). Read more here

  •  Check the relevant country regulations

We need to point out that as our passenger, you are responsible to ensure that you adhere to the health & entry requirements of the countries you are travelling to (including transit countries) and that you hold all required travel documents. Some countries might impose temperature checks, health certificates, testing and/or specific documents. We strongly advise that you verify the latest updates shortly before starting your journey. You can find more information on our travel regulations page.

  •  Are your contact details up to date?

You can add or update your contact details via My Booking, so we can inform you about any relevant updates concerning your flights.

  •  We recommend to check in online

In order to reduce physical contact, we invite our guests to check in online and get their boarding passes before coming to the airport. You can check in online as from 24 hours prior to departure of your flight. More info on check-in options

  •  Bring your own face mask

Wearing a face mask on board of our flights is mandatory as from the age of 6 years. You must wear a face mask which entirely covers mouth and nose. Face shields and FFP2 masks with a valve are not permitted on board, as they allow the air to escape to the side and do not provide comparable protection. Don’t forget to bring along a sufficient number of face masks for your entire journey.

  •  Strict allowances for hand baggage

In order to enable social distancing on board to a maximum, the hand baggage allowance will be strictly applied. On all our flights, you can check in your hand baggage for free. More info on hand baggage

  •  Meet & greet is not allowed

At Brussels Airport, meeting and greeting inside the airport building is not allowed. Only passengers with a valid flight ticket for that same day will be allowed. Exceptions are allowed for medical cases and guests requiring assistance.

  •  Are you in good health?

In case you or any accompanying passenger are feeling ill, please contact our Service Centre for a rebooking. More info on our flexible rebooking options

At the airport

  •  Mandatory face masks throughout the journey

Wearing a face mask on board of our flights is mandatory as from the age of 6 years. In addition, Brussels Airlines recommends that passengers wear their mask throughout the entire journey, i.e. also at the airport. Please keep in mind to take along a sufficient number of face masks to cover your entire journey. Watch our video

  •  Reduced physical contact at ticketing & check-in

Only electronic payments will be possible. We invite you to check in online and to use the self-scanning devices as much as possible. Watch our video

  •  Strict allowances for hand baggage

In order to enable social distancing on board to a maximum, the hand baggage allowance will be strictly applied. On all our flights, you can check in your hand baggage for free. More info on hand baggage

  •  Limited lounge availability

Due to the stringent health measures taken by the Belgian federal government, the Brussels Airlines lounges are temporarily closed until further notice. In other airports, the lounges will gradually open and/or operate with limited availability, in line with the regulations of the respective countries.

  •  Enhanced measures at Brussels Airport

    • plexiglass protection at the different counters
    • vending machines for face masks

    • hand sanitizers throughout the airport
    • additional cleaning and disinfection of touchpoints and toilets
  •  Temperature checks at Brussels Airport

Passengers departing from and arriving at Brussels Airport will be subject to a temperature screening: any passenger with a temperature higher than 38° c might be denied access to the terminal building.

On board, boarding and de-boarding

  •  Adapted boarding & de-boarding processes

To avoid queuing in the aisle and boarding bridge, boarding and de-boarding will happen row by row.

  •  Reduced physical contact at gate counters

We invite you to use the self-scanning devices as much as possible. Watch our video

  •  HEPA air filters are available on all our aircraft

HEPA filters are standard on all Brussels Airlines aircraft and supply a complete exchange of fresh air approximately every three minutes. Watch our video
