New York Brunch Spots

No city does brunch quite like New York, and there are so many amazing spots all around town for a great Sunday brunch. Here are five favourites to put on your must do list!

1. Reynard at the Wythe
Area: Williamsburg - 80 Wythe Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11249

Reynard is the ground floor restaurant of the amazing Wythe hotel, serving a mix of American classics and bistro style French cooking (or the American take on it), nothing too fancy, yet nothing too plain. We recommend the grass fed burger, an American classic if there ever was one! A great spot to do in combination with the Brooklyn Flea in summers.

Standard 2. Café Standard at the Standard East
Area: East Village - 25 Cooper Square Bowery at East 5th Street New York, NY 10003

The Standard has become an established name in the hotel & restaurant business, with its second New York location recently opened in the East Village. Café Standard combines the charm of a colorful street café with the electricity of a downtown New York bar, complete with American style food, strong coffee and signature cocktails. The poached eggs are highly recommended!

3. Roebling Tea Room
Area: Williamsburg - 143 Roebling street Brooklyn, NY 11211

The Roebling Tea Room is located in a former industrial space in Williamsburg. Just go up the steps and into the big dining room for brunch, lunch, dinner or -what's in a name?- tea! The restaurant is owned by former rock musician Syd Silver, and the food is by the hand of self-trained chef Dennis Spina. Both the space and the food you get on your plate have an eclectic and relaxed vibe, and the restaurant is a bright and pleasant space.

Schiller's 4. Schiller's
Area: Lower East Side - 131 Rivington St New York, NY 10002

Schiller's is pretty well known for its drinks, but the place is great for food as well, including brunch! The atmosphere is lively, the tables are crowded and the burgers are simply great. On hot summer days, the big windows are opened and you can sit and watch people pass by. A favorite.

5. Marlow & Sons
Area: South Williamsburg - 85 Broadway Brooklyn, NY 11249

Step through the white and bright general store into the dark dining area of the restaurant, sit down and enjoy a nice mimosa with your brunch. This Brooklyn hotspot has been around for ten years now and in that time Marlow & Sons has become a respected restaurant with a farm to table attitude. The portion sizes could be bigger, but the food combinations are simply amazing and the salmon is highly recommended.
