Upgrades in online check-in

Upgrade in online check-in can only be purchased during the online check-in process from 36 hours before departure on all Brussels airlines scheduled flights. Upgrades are subject to availability and depend on the capacity of the aircraft. The fare conditions (such as rebooking conditions and baggage allowance) of the original ticket remain unchanged after the purchase of an upgrade. Refund possible according to originally booked fare conditions.

Changing seats in online check-in

Passengers whose booked fare does not include free seat reservation will automatically be assigned a seat in the check-in process. Passengers who wish to change their seat have the opportunity after successful online check-in to view the seat map and, subject to availability, to select a different seat category for a fee.

Passengers who have already purchased a seat category may change their seat, subject to availability, within the same category or in another lower category.

A seat may be changed online up to 2 hours before departure on flights operated by Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines and Austrian Airlines. Payment for this change may only be made by credit card.

Purchasing additional baggage in online check-in

Passengers can purchase additional baggage during online check-in. The amount and price of additional baggage that can be purchased during Online Check-in depends on the passenger’s travel class, fare and route. Refund of the purchased baggage paid during online check-in is not possible.
