GRAVITY

Brussels Airlines proudly presents its newest Belgian Icon with a beautiful Tintin-inspired livery, in collaboration with Tintinimaginatio, celebrating for the second time in a row one of Belgium’s most beloved comic book heroes created by Hergé.

Tribute to a Belgian comic book hero: Tintin

Tintin stars, yet again, in our fleet as it is one of our all-time favourite heritages. From Brussels to the world, Tintin’s adventures know no borders. Translated into more than 100 languages and enjoyed by millions of readers across all continents, Tintin has become one of the most internationally recognised characters in comic book history. Decades after his first appearance, the young reporter with the famous hair and his loyal companion Snowy continue to inspire curiosity, courage and a spirit of discovery. Values that align perfectly with our mission and passion for connecting the world.

Explorers on the moon

The new design is inspired on the red-white space rocket from Explorers on the Moon and replaces our previous Tintin livery: the worldly-known shark submarine of Red Rackham’s Treasure. Gravity shows the world from Tintin both on the outside as on the inside of the aircraft. On the outside, we see Tintin floating around space together with Snowy and Captain Haddock. Inside the cabin, themed artwork continues the tale, creating an imaginative space atmosphere that honours Hergé’s legacy while celebrating Belgian creativity at 30,000 feet. All of it framed by Hergé’s handwritten quote: “By believing in his dreams long enough, Man turns them into reality. The cherry under the cake is the moon-rocket on the belly of the aircraft, which will take off, fly, and land “for real”.

Through our Belgian Icons we want to bring the magic of Belgian storytelling to the skies, making every journey a cultural experience for passengers and aviation fans alike.
